Mot to the rescue

Posted by admin - November 14th, 2008

Saved again after a funny smell indicated all was not well inside our computer,it just decided to close itself down and give of a burning smell upon investigation by the wizard (my mate Mot) who has no sense of smell! and didn’t find anything wrong but we decided to change the power supply which is what we thought was suspect.A new one was fitted at double the wattage and seems to be OK up to now (fingers crossed). Thanks must go to Jean (that’s Mots boss) for patience shown during this operation (” ta”) as she has been installing a new Kiln for her china painting and glass work,if you had just waited a little longer Jean before you bought it you may have been able to pick up a cheap one from Royal Worcester!!!.

Nut Thief

Posted by admin - May 9th, 2008

“Would ya believe it”,looking out the other day at our nut feeder which is very close to our kitchen window and surrounded by a clematis (Montana) we caught this little mouse clinging on to the side of the feeder helping his or her self to the nuts, after watching it over these last few days Carol and I now think that it is living in the clematis in an old birds nest, this must be known as a tree house in the mouse world!.Carol managed to get this photo when it was’nt looking “cute eh”.

Another dig ?

Posted by admin - January 20th, 2008

Once Carol starts digging she never stops, it’s her Ancestry now( a murky past I must admit ). It would appear that she has connections dating back to the Border Reivers and they were rustlers thieves and murderers ( I’m sleeping with one eye open from now on ).It must be catching this Ancestry business because Bruce and Patti are at it and its now rubbed of on me ( where will this lead I wonder ? ).

Archaeological Dig !

Posted by admin - December 8th, 2007

James and the giant peach has nothing on this, “this is “Joe and his giant parsnip. Discovered just before lunch today at an allotment in the northwest corner of Holywell Village, location of which is not being disclosed for security purposes, co-owner of the plot Carol Lister said on interview “it nearly took an Archaeological dig to unearth this.”

The dimensions are 16″long 17″around the top and weighing in at 3lbs 8oz not bad eh, or should I say “bon appetit” (is that right Bruce ?).
