Spring is in the air
Ah Spring at last, bulbs are flowering, birds are singing and pairing up and we have just returned from our first spring break in the Yorkshire dales.Very enjoyable it was too. Bedale was our first stop having lunch with our Glad and catching up on all the gossip!.Moved on then to Finghall a small village nr Layburn where we stayed for two nights managing a lovely 8 mile walk to a local reservoir watching a man catch Rainbow trout.Friday saw us on the move again calling at Aysgarth for a look at the falls really nice with lots of water coming over (see pics) then on to Hawes with a visit to the creamery (yum-yum) says Carol licking her lips and many free samples later. Fish and chips for lunch and these were really nice just managed to get back behind the wheel for a very pleasurable drive over the tops to Middleton-in- Teesdale our final destination.Saturday saw breakfast out of the way and yours truly putting on his boots again for a 6 miler along the Teesway right along side the river then crossing over on a footbridge specially built for hikers to cross over up thro the village onto the old railway line that would take us back to base for lunch and then a nice steady drive home.
