Three days to wander around the moss and take it all in, seven hides in total and nearly all completely different.First to catch my eye was the Marsh Harriers a real treat to watch and a first for me then the Little Egrets building in numbers possibly a county high ( 25 to beat soI am told), Redshank/Greenshank all there in good numbers then a couple of Spotted Redshank, another first.Down to the two hides near the coast for Snipe,Red and Greenshank, Blacktailed godwits, Curlew and a Wood Sandpiper plus the ducks and swans . No Bearded Tits or the illusive Bittern what a great excuse for another trip.

Started off at the bottom end of Cumbria at a place called Arnside, managed to do a bit of cycling and walking even tho the weather was not at its best (see pic) guess who I caught on camera with a plastic bag on her head ?.

Not as bad as it looks as it got out later so that we could sit on the side of the Kent estuary and have some lunch , just missed seeing a 5lb SeaBass being landed a real nice one it was too. It’s a real nice walk alongside the estuary, also around Arnside Knott(big hill)which we managed the day after, before we moved off into Lancashire.
Leighton Hall was our next destination for a three night stay we chose this site well as it backs onto the RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss very enjoyable it was too (see birding). Moving on again into Yorkshire calling at Skipton and Ilkley for a look around the shops and market before stopping at a site at Otley for the night and a spot of Red Kite watching.Next morning saw us heading for Ripon and another market stop giving me the opportunity to get a couple of pork pies and a bit of black pudding for lunch before heading home.
